LeTour Stage #15
Gyda sawl beiciwr yn dewis cael saib, ar ol y penwythnos, diwrnod tawel oedd hi ar gymal #15 o LeTour. Roedd cyfanswm milltiroedd peleton YGY lawr yn sylweddol ar y targed felly roedd Geraint Thomas yn medru crafu nol tri chwarter munud ar griw YGY. Y newyddion mawr, ymhlith y crysau, yw fod yna wyneb newydd yn y crys smotiog. Mae Rhys Davies wedi bod ar olwyn Owain Watts ers sawl diwrnod, yn y mynyddoedd, a heddiw llwyddodd i gipio'r crys. Serch hynny, mae ei fantais yn fach iawn a mae yna 60 o bwyntiau i'w hawlio cyn ddiwedd y ras. Braf oedd gweld Nicholas Fisk-Jones nol yn y ras, ac yn cipio 10 pwynt am y crys gwyn, ar ol problemau mecanyddol trwy wythnos 2.
With several riders electing to take a rest, afrter the weekend, stage #15 of LeTour proved to be a quiet affair. YGY's peleton achieved a mileage that was significantly down on their target so Geraint Thomas was able to claw back three quarters of a minute on the YGY crew. The big news, amongst the jerseys, is that there is a new face in the polka dot jersey. Rhys Davies has been tracking the wheel of long-time wearer Owain Watts, through the mountains, for several days and today he made his move to claim the jersey. However, his advantage is slim and there are still 60 points available before the race ends. It was great to see Nicholas Fisk-Jones back in the race, claiming 10 points towards the white jersey, after mechanical issues blighted him through week 2.
